“O Escort XR3 tinha como grande destaque sua esportividade. Era um carro de linhas diferenciadas frente aos concorrentes de sua época. Em minha concepção, um novo XR3 seria hoje um veículo com traços ainda mais esportivos e dinâmicos, expressando velocidade e potência, mas sem perder elegância. Ao desenvolver esta releitura, procurei manter suas características mais marcantes, como a linha dos faróis, a grade, o pára-choque e os faróis de milha, aperfeiçoando-as. Resgatei, também, alguns traços do pára-lama e do capô, aplicando a nova linha de design da Ford, a Kinetic.”
